GameznFlix Drops All PSP Titles

GZF LogoI checked my GameznFlix queue today to find it somewhat slimmer than I remembered. Hmm. I clicked over to see PSP new releases to fill it out and got a full-page message that they’re dropping PSP rentals entirely.

“To our approximate 100 PSP customers we regret to inform you that we will no longer offer PSP/UMD titles through our rental program.”

They cite new US Postal Service rules going into effect on May 14th, implying that they make it too expensive to continue shipping UMDs through the mail versus regular discs.

This isn’t the only thing wrong with GameznFlix, mind you, as their queue system is more of a cloud than a queue than anything else I’ve ever seen. But until now I’ve rolled with it simply because the price was right. Once the new Gamefly facility is open on the east coast I’m thinking I’ll jump ship back to them.

Check out the notice here.

I’ve read some pretty sketchy things about GameznFlix. Any words on that?

I am also a GameznFlix subscriber. I’m currently getting 3 movies/games out at a time for 13 dollars a month. I mostly get items from the bottom of my queue and three of my games/movies have been received unplayable/unwatchable with two of them being nearly snapped in half. However, I can’t bring myself to close my account as it is just so damn cheap. I guess it is cheap for a reason, though. Also, this probably dashes my hopes of them ever renting out DS titles. Oh well.

Yes they are very cheap, and the order of the queue is meaningless. They give you whatever they want to from it.

Their site is pretty poor overall, not telling you what type of media it is that’s in your queue.

This led to some people putting FEAR in their queue only to find that it was a DVD of trailers for the game, not the actual game. They were unhappy to say the least.

I’ll be posting a full review of GameznFlix soon. This article and people’s questions has prompted me to write something more in-depth about my experiences with their service.
