If it’s Monday it’s time for Gameover, the gaming hangover post. Another weekend has blown by us, and here in the northeastern US the weather was bright, sunny, and borderline hot. It was a welcome break after last weekend’s massive flooding and rains. What did I play?
I’ve packed up my current crop of PSP rentals to go back:
* Chili Con Carnage was good fun.
* Puzzle Quest is a great little game that deserves the hype and has some serious legs. Unfortunately it’s hobbled on the PSP and DS with no online play. Why just the PC? WHY?
* The Metal Slug Collection is a must-play for anyone who likes shooters. I never played any of the six Metal Slug games on the UMD in the arcade, but I found the PSP collection to look great and play well. I can only imagine that a fan of them wouldn’t be able to put it down.
In terms of full-sized console fare, I continued slamming my head against the Conduits level in Resistance: Fall of Man. I can’t make any headway in this level — the aliens just keep coming at me across a bridge and I can’t survive the trip across no matter what weapons/grenades I use to try and clear a path. As Danny Glover’s character would say in the later Lethal Weapon movies: “I’m getting too old for this”… stuff.
What did you play this weekend?
