Free Quake 3 Engine Games
Remember Quake 3? Of course you do because it only happened 8-years ago. OK so that’s a long time ago but not for some, especially those who still play with and mod the engine. In 2005 the Quake 3 engine went open source and the community started improving the performance of and releasing cool games like these two intriguing titles just released:

Urban Terror is a realism based Counter-strike-like First Person Shooter. The graphics may seem dated compared to today’s standards but hey, it’s not always about the graphics is it?
Then there’s World of Padman which is a standalone, cartoony and colourful paint shooting game created with the Quake engine which is a nice option if you don’t enjoy the realistic shooters.
If you already have Quake 3 Arena installed, you’re half way there. All you need to do is use the game’s installer. I might also mention that there are a ton of popular open source games from the past out there. Just hit Google.
