Capcom Classics Collection Vol 2: Which games?
I did my usual trip past the games section of Target last time I was there and I noticed a single-digit sale on a PS2 game — Capcom Classics Collection Volume 2 was listed at $9.99. I picked up a copy — the display case in the 19.99 and under section of games is now always open — and turned it over to see what retro gaming goodness it had in store for me.
And there was no list of games on the back. Just more unlabeled screen shots and a little marketing spin about reliving arcade classics. I turned it over a couple of more times. I must have missed it. Maybe I’m reading too fast? I looked again, but no list of games is on the box anywhere.
So I put it back. It turns out the collection is pretty good, earning a 75 at MetaCritic, with a 7.5 review at Gamespot. The big thing that jumped out at me in the Gamespot review is that the game actually has a 480p mode. You know what that means: Really good visuals on the PS3 as well as the PS2.
The full list of games is after the jump.
1941
Avengers
Black Tiger
Block Block
Captain Commando
Eco Fighters
King of Dragons
Knights of the Round
Last Duel
Magic Sword
Mega Twins
Quiz & Dragons
Side Arms
Street Fighter
Strider
Super Street Fighter II Turbo
The Speed Rumbler
Three Wonders
Tiger Road
Varth
The titles I’m interested in are pretty limited, basically 1941, Strider, and maybe I’d fiddle around with Street Fighter II Turbo to get ready for its remake coming to PSN later this year.
Who at Capcom forgot to put the list of games on the back of the box? I can’t even think of what a bad idea that was. At ten bucks, someone can find at least one thing to make it worthwhile, so why not put the whole list on there to hook someone in?
