re4_small.pngResident Evil 4 is headed to the Nintendo Wii this summer as a port back from the PS2. For those of you who lost track last year when this game was important, it first was a smash hit on the GameCube, then a hit on the PS2 with additional content, and now is headed back to the Wii — I mean headed to the Wii for the first time with some waggle/motion controls added in.

But that’s not the best part. The best part is how Gamespot opened their post about it:

Like a rotting husk of an ex-person reanimated in a grotesque mockery of the laws of nature, Capcom’s GameCube hit Resident Evil 4 takes its sweet time in getting places.

Thank you Brendan Sinclair. You just made my day.

This is a tough pair for Capcom to drop on the Wii. On one hand, I picked up RE4 and played through it last gen on the Cube, and loved it. Most of the reviews when it came out on PS2 said the added content was not enough to warrant an additional purchase of the game, so unless the Wii version adds a lot more to the game, I’m not considering it.

I was thrilled when I first heard about Umbrella Chronicles way back, but they’ve made it a rail shooter, which isn’t what I expected at all. So once again, it’s up in the air. I’ll just have to watch reviews.
