Beautiful Katamari Announced, Still No Wii Version
Namco Bandai has formally announced Beautiful Katamari for North America, and here are the bullet points:
* For both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3
* 720p graphics
* Online co-op and head-to-head play modes.
* A new “fresh and memorable” soundtrack
* A “variety of future downloadable content will become available, … long after the game has launched.”
* “More online features will be rolled out at a later date.”
Sorry Nintendo, no Wii version was even mentioned. That smarts. I’d guess they might work on a custom version given the advantages of the Wii’s motion controls, but after previous statements about not really having a design for how to control the katamari, I’d doubt it for this go-round. That’s a surprise to me for three reasons: the installed base of the Wii, the very E-rated nature of the game, and the generally low tech requirements of the gameplay.
