Watch Me Tow Sony’s Line

Submitted by on March 3, 2007 – 11:42 pm7 Comments

Towin_Line.JPGIf you’ve read any of my content recently, I might be (accurately) inaccurately portrayed as a 360 fanboy. There was a time when I was all Sony, all the time. While I still frequent my PSP, Sony’s home console has lost almost all of it’s luster to me.

Watching me on camera, being interviewed by Sony and while playing Resistance and Marvel: UL, back in November makes me realize how far down my list Sony has fallen. Back then, I owned an Xbox 360 but still cared about the capabilities and potential of the PS3. Today, I simply look back and wonder what the hell happened here.

Continue through for the video.

Some of the comments from the woman just before my brief interview is pretty sickening. “Each game you buy on the PS3, it has a tie in with the PSP, it will include mini-games for the PSP” Where the hell did she get that idea? I guess it’s some consolation that she also chose Untold Legends and Genji, two of the worst games on the system, as her favorites.

Just a note: Sony cut out all of the skepticism from my brief interview. I mentioned that overall, I was impressed with the hardware but not the software.

Perhaps it was the excitement of something new with the promise of being a technological marvel, and I can imagine the feeling was greater if you owned a PS2. Now that the dust has settled, the PS3 almost seems anti-climatic and Sony, as a company keeps this arrogant attitude which at times is insulting. Anyhow, I could keep going but I wanted to say that I myself had respect for Sony and admired their drive to keep that edge in terms of technology, but they lost me at “rootkit” and just about everything they’ve done and said after that. I hope they get a grip simply for the fact that competition is usually good.

I don’t know, James. Your lack of enthusiasm in your clip is pretty apparent. I don’t see you towing anyone’s line at that point. You’re talking about changing the hardware with firmware updates already. Is that the best thing you said about the PS3 during the interview?

Not like the poor soul who claimed she was actually looking forward to Genji.

I will pick one up when the price goes down and some decent games are released. It has hope!

Stephen: Yes, that’s true, I wasn’t exactly glowing. Most of the other gamers at that party looked at me like a Heretic when I mentioned I owned a 360.

I’m pretty surprised that they put me on that video, considering how even-keel I was.

That’s what I have been saying. Its too bad, considering that the PS2 was such a good system.

  • Richard (Aeropause)

I really don’t much care for the PS3, but I will pick one up eventually (when the games start to come)

It is really funny how they find the stupidest people in the room (James Excluded Obviously) They act like they have never seen a HD game before.

WOW lol most of the people had no idea what they were saying they might have just said “look at the pretty picture”
