The black 360 is coming!

Late April! Woohoo! A black 360 with a 120GB hard drive, USD $479, does not include HD-DVD playback.
* It’ll be sold in limited quanities, a few hundred thousand units.
* It’s going to be called the Xbox 360 Elite (with new packaging)
* Controller, Case, and headset will be black
* It’ll sold along with the other 2 models, so this is a 3rd SKU
* It apparently will run cooler than the other models (but will is be quieter?)
* Eventually this will replace Premium; the Elite will turn white again; late summer or fall

This is a non-issue to me as long as they offer the 120GB hard drive as a seperate add-on. A trade in program would be nice too for those of us early adopters that bought 360′s in the beginning, but I feel that Microsoft’s generosity will only go so far. And no absurd pricing point for the drive. I don’t want a 120GB drive to cost me a mini-fortune like the ridiculous pricing on the 20GB model.
Yeah Joe, that’s one good thing about the PS3 – you can use any third-party hard drive.
Let’s hope they handle the ad campaign better than Sony did for the PSP.
Let’s also hope it runs better than the 1st iteration of broken 360′s. Man…
Seriously though it’s almost like M$ is saying “Hey Sony, we can do black, too!”.
Wait, Sony invented black? Wasn’t the Xbox black?
The Atari 2600 was black. Some of my favorite consoles are black!
