The Best TMNT Version is on GBA?

Submitted by on March 29, 2007 – 8:00 am2 Comments

tmnt_gba.pngTwo good games on the GBA in one week? First it was Final Fantasy VI, now it seems to be TMNT. It’s hard not to think there’s a bug on Gamespot when you see a bevy of reviews for the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game (affectionately called TMNT) on handhelds all coming in from 3.1 to 4.7 followed by a GBA version that nabs an 8.1 “Great” rating. Want to know what the really weird thing is? UBISoft Montreal made all three versions.

In fact, Ubi Montreal made the GBA and all consoles, while Quebec City Studio made the DS and PSP versions. And yeah, the GBA version rocks

It’s happening pretty often now that the GBA editions of these games are very good. The hardware is very familiar to the developers, and they don’t tend to overreach. The GBA hardware and medium has turned out to be an excellent balance on Nintendo’s part.

Looks like a fun game. I’ll have to try it.
