Splitfish Announces the FragFX For the PS3

Submitted by on March 21, 2007 – 1:23 amOne Comment

fragfx_ps3_1.jpg Splitfish has decided to “Bring PC style gaming to the PS3″ in the form of the FragFX controller. The controller has a mousepad that sits on your lap with a wireless mouse attached to it. The mouse has a the four controller buttons on the left side of the controller (too bad for all the leftys in the world), and it has a handheld nunchuck like attachment for the left hand. Looking at the thing, it definitely is a cross between the PC side of the world and the Wii side of the world. The press release even goes so far as to compare its movement as “Wii like”.

It may be me, but I think that the controller is trying to be too much all in one controller. It looks like it could be a good device, but without developer support, it will go the way of the keyboard and mouse attachment for the PS2 last generation.

UPDATE 03-21-2007 – As informed by Splitfish, the device is indeed compatible with all PS3 games regardless of developer support.
