I really liked last year’s DBZ game, Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit 2. It felt like the franchise had finally achieved some serious attention with a game that was both deep and fun.
This year, we …

Sony Vindicated by Xbox 360 Elite

Submitted by on March 28, 2007 – 2:42 pm7 Comments

pic_psx_01.jpgAccording to Gameindustry.biz, Sony hasn’t wasted any time responding to the Xbox 360 Elite.

In a statement, vice president of marketing Peter Dille commented, “We think every PlayStation 3 owner should have an “elite” experience, which is why we include an internal hard drive and HDMI output in every PS3 we sell, along with the 50GB of storage capacity on a high definition Blu-ray disc.

“Microsoft‚Äôs announcement today not only legitimises Sony‚Äôs PS3 strategy, it moves us closer to adopting universal standards in the area of high definition gaming that will benefit game developers and ultimately the end user.”

According to Dille, “Sony has been the strongest advocate of high definition as the future of next-generation gaming. This requires high-definition components, including HDMI output, and large storage devices to deliver and store all that rich and vivid HD content.”

And you know what? He’s right. For all the bad press Sony gets, the PS3 has been selling fairly well, and IMHO, the Xbox 360 Elite will probably end up driving MORE people to the PS3, as people try and decide between a $479 Xbox 360 and a PS3 that has similar features and is not much more expensive. (Oh, and includes Blu-ray, if you’re into that sort of thing.)

Will the Xbox 360 Elite be the next PSX? It’s entirely possible.

Sorry but Sony is failing its fan base big time. At least the elite will actually have HD cables unlike the true HD system Sony keeps BSing about.

Component Hd looks amazing, if you think you need HDMI then you are just stupid, but having the option is always nice. I don’t use the HDMI on my PS3 because its always screwing up and flickering real bad.

The elite will never be as bad as the PSX, to say that is ludacris. Of course they still wanna BS us about how Blu-Ray is needed as a next gen format!

The only thing the PS3 is missing is Xbox Live (if you’re into that sort of thing). Oh SNAP!

Oh wait… the PS3 DOWNSCALES 720i games to only 480p for everyone who owns a CRT HD 1080i TV. Sorry, Sony doesn’t win ANY awards for being the HD leader. LOL.

Sony is just trying to justify itself again.

MS isn’t forcing this into people’s faces, its very much like releasing limited or collector edition of games, if people have the money they can just buy it or have the need for it.

It’s not like MS is now just offering the elite only.

Wow, MS steps up and pretty much finally agrees that a bigger hdd is needed and that hdmi is the way to go and you still trash on sony
PS3 20gb is 20 bux more then the “Elite”
it can be found at toys r us in times square
I would have bought a elite on launch if it was available now i got a box with no hdmi and a 20gb hdd that will cost me 179 to upgrade..
    yeah thats fair
    riiiiight
    sony is the evil one
    gotcha
