So It’s Come To This?

GTAIV_Trailer.JPGI have to admit, sometimes I love the hype. I love the rush of a new console or game, I even love the pre-launch parties that we get to attend.

But now we get countdowns almost a month before, not when a game is released, but a game’s TRAILER is released. Rockstar has a website up with a countdown to a GTAIV trailer on March 29th.

With all the Crackdown buzz lately, Rockstar has to do something to generate some GTA press. It’s not that Rockstar is the only one guilty of this, Microsoft recently hyped about the trailer for Halo 3 was supposed to be on an Xbox 360-sponsored ESPN as well.

At least that wasn’t a month in advance, it looks a little desperate to me.

    Their PR machine has a long history of teasing the public, and I’m glad they’re kicking it into gear. I’d say just about everyone who has enjoyed a GTA game in the past is curious about what’s coming down the pike. We’ll all watch the trailer, and most will probably say “Hmmm.” and wait for the next tidbit a few months down the road.

    I have this vision of GTA4 being fantastic – I’m super pumped. Do they really even need to hype this game up? I mean, isn’t the highest grossing game of all time?
