No Miis for 3rd-party devs

mysimsmii.jpgPeople are asking why the EA game MySims doesn’t use Miis, since the Sims in this game look so similar. The answer is that Nintendo hasn’t allowed any third party developers access to the tools needed to integrate Miis into their games. It’s unsure whether they ever will allow third-party devs to use the Miis…perhaps Nintendo fears their use in the wrong way will reflect badly on them.

It’s good to see that Nintendo still hasn’t caught a clue on 3rd party importance. Gotta give MS and Sony a chance right?

I really don’t think both styles are similar. The Mii looks more like stick figures with somewhat detailed heads. Also I don’t think its that weird that Miis are Nintendo exclusive. After all they don’t give Mario away to third parties.

    Can’t say I’m shocked.

I don’t think the Mii’s have enough customization options. I look a little too much like my friend’s Mii on his Wii when our hair colors are different enough in real life that we should be easily distinguishable.
