I don’t own a Wii, but I do own a Nintendo DS and I’m absolutely sick of friend codes. Wii-Network.uk dropped Nintendo an e-mail asking for a final answer on whether the Nintendo Wii titles will feature individual friend codes. 
They actually responded and confirmed just that, each Nintendo Wii title will have it’s own exclusive friend code and buddy list. Thankfully, the amount of online Wii titles is sure to be next to none, so this really isn’t much of an issue.
R.M. Rickets from Nintendo did give the masses something to look forward to,
“…I want you to know that we appreciate your passion and concern. Let me assure you that your concerns have been heard and will be forwarded along.”
