Gears Of War Going Bigscreen!

Submitted by on March 20, 2007 – 7:22 pm4 Comments

Newline-and-Gears.jpgIn the “you knew it would happen eventually” file. New Line Cinemas has just purchased the movie rights to Gears of War. The rights were auctioned off using a 21 page treatment and as of yet we don’t know how much New Line Paid, but hopefully with a big studio behind it, Gears of War won’t turn out to be as much of a nightmare as Halo has been.

I think that Gears could make a good movie, although they better beef up the dialog if they want to keep us on the edge of our seats. The movie is still far from being shot so I don’t doubt that it could release alongside the sequel to the game. They are gonna need a bunch of really buff guys. I wonder if the cast of 300 is busy?

Who do you think should play Marcus Phoenix? Let us know in our comments section.

I hope they make the best out of what the “story” in GoW has delivered. It¬¥s not much to start from, but with the right art direction and scripting it COULD get interesting.

Besides that I¬¥d love to see either “The Rock” as Marcus Phoenix (he¬¥s not quite the talker as well!) or Arnie in his last role as an actor. (ah well after all I¬¥m Austrian too ;-) ) !)
