Devil May Cry 4 to Ship For PS3, 360 Simultaneously

070320b.jpgWe’ve been going back-and-forth about this on Aeropause for awhile now but according to a Japanese press release, the back-and-forth is over. If I read that press release correctly, Devil May Cry 4 will ship for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, possibly simultaneously across all platforms.

Here’s a roughly translated piece of the release;

“In for PS3 and Xbox 360 we sell the same software, simultaneously…..„ÄÄThis corporation, as in the future the improvement of degree of customer satisfaction of the user is assured, starts assuring the largest conversion of the profit by promoting the multi-platform strategy.”

The translation of this most-recent release is really convincing that a multi-platform release is a reality. If this is true, and I have a hard time believing it’s not, we should hear more from Capcom very soon.

    To think PSM had this nailed in November.

    To think one of the holy trinity of PS exclusives is going multiplatform. One down, FF and MGS to go.

    Further proof that the next generation will be all about First Party. With the cost of game development reaching well over millions of dollars, its dumb for companies to sell to only one platform, I expect more of this to happen from both the ps3 and 360 side.

    Joe, you’ve got two of the three PlayStation Trinity right, but Capcom/Devil May Cry aren’t the third. The third is Polyphony Digital via Gran Turismo.
