Dead Rising and Lost Planet stay exclusive

Submitted by on March 26, 2007 – 2:14 pm2 Comments

RIP-thumb.jpgAccording to Joystiq, Capcom has announced that Dead Rising and Lost Planet will remain Xbox 360 exclusive titles. Unfortunately, Capcom’s response was not very forthcoming. “The reasons for this are quite convoluted and I’m bound by NDAs on these matters so I can’t divulge why this is the situation.”

Honestly, if I didn’t own a 360, I would want these games released on other platforms. They are pretty good games, and it’s a shame that Wii and PS3 owners will miss out on them.

On a sidenote, I’d like to address any whining about Devil May Cry and Resident Evil going multiplatform. Why are you complaining about MORE people being able to play your favorite games? It will only help ensure that there is a DMC5 or RE6. It will also help ensure that features exclusive to one platform (like a robust achievement system or motion-sensing control) will spread to other manufacturers.

So, stop whining and rejoice that others will enjoy these great titles!

My thought is some people who’ve bought PS3s are worried they wasted their money when the popular games on PS3 are looking more and more as though they will be appearing on less expensive platforms. I guess I could understand that perspective better if I had invested $600+ in a new gaming setup.
