Crackdown Content to feature Flying Vehicles?
1up is reporting that future Crackdown content could include flying vehicles, after previously saying vehicles would be grounded only. Producer Phil Whilson told Eurogamer:
Since nothing’s announced for the forthcoming downloadable content I have to be careful what I say about it, but flying vehicles are something that we initially decided to steer well clear of. As it happens that latter concern was irrelevant because, as you can see in the finished game, the existing engine can handle immense draw distances and rapid streaming… so airborne antics is definitely not off the table going forward.
When I spoke with the product manager back in February, he did mention there would definitely be more content than just a bunch of themes and gamerpics, and the attitude seemed to be one of delivering a great deal of quality content after the game had shipped. So, I wouldn’t put it past them to include something like this, and it will go a long way towards raising the bar for other developers.
