    Brick & Mortar Importers.

    By Stephen Munn | March 10, 2007

hello-kitty.pngWhen I was bumbling around the Hudson Valley Mall today, I had to check out the C-T Japanese Gifts store. They had a lot of really interesting stuff there, including a huge wall stocked with anime DVDs and more Gundam related items than you can shake a fully articulated stick at.

Gaming items were also not in short supply. In addition to official Super Mario Bros towels (in Mario-brick boxes, see the big picture to see what I mean. At $25 bucks a pop, no thank you. They’re $15 at Wizzywig, linked), they had a PS2 kiosk, part of which was pasted with a sign announcing that soon the shop would be selling import DS and PSP games.

Really! Well, if the price is reasonable, this could be a nice alternative to buying online and waiting. I’ve also heard mention of electronics box stores and game-specific retailers doing some game importing. Anyone seen any of this yet? Click through to see a picture of the whole kiosk.

CORRECTION 11 MARCH: Umm, Hudson Valley Mall, not Poughkeepsie Galleria. Sorry, I was on a mall tour or something.
