AC6 Breaches The No Fly Zone
Namco Bandai has turned it’s sights toward the Xbox 360 in a big way, announcing that Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation will hit the system exclusively later this year. Not only will it be the first Ace Combat game to land on a non-Sony console, but it will also be the first Ace Combat title to feature online play. Competitive and cooperative gameplay modes have been promised from Namco Bandai, who cite, “deathmatch, team deathmatch, and co-op modes” are in the works.
I’ve always been a casual fan of Ace Combat throughout the years but the lack of quality multiplayer always turned me off a bit. I’m happy to see Namco Bandai take advantage of the 360′s strengths but I’m definitely amazed that they’re going the exclusive route with this one. I expect to see Ace Combat 6/7 “Insert title here” coming down the road for the PS3 soon after Fires of Liberation hits the 360.
Namco Bandai has yet to announce a release date but have said it will hit the console sometime this year.
