Suda 51 speaking at GDC, No More Heroes awaits.

It’s been a little bit since we heard anything about No More Heroes and its creator, Goichi Suda. Suda 51 (five one), as he is more commonly known, is apparently appearing at GDC this year, where he will be speaking. It’s probably a safe bet that the latest footage of No More Heroes will be in tow, along with perhaps some new information on this intriguing title.

His speech will be entitled, “Punk’s Not Dead,” and here’s what he has to say about it.

“Game creators should be faithful to their vision and instincts, if original games are what interest them. The players in turn will respond favorably to this originality, as there’s an innate desire to experience something new. There is severe stagnation in terms of game design these days however, as creators are afraid of taking risks. This talk will discuss our production style at Grasshopper, which is rooted in appreciation of our native Japanese culture and aesthetic. This is how I worked as director, game designer, and scenario writer for Killer7 and the upcoming title, No More Heroes.”

More than a safe bet on No More Heroes, I’d wager. Looking forward to it. It might be nice to hear anything about “Project S” as well.

Picked this up listening to an IGN podcast today from last month, where they mentioned it offhand.

GDC2007 will be taking place March 5th-9th.
