Strapya Awareness

strapya.jpgLet’s talk about Strapya. I am a diehard fan, since I discovered it a couple of years ago, and you should know that they carry a lot of awesome Nintendo cell phone straps/charms. I love to evangelize Strapya just because I think it is such an awesome store. I love the Japanese cell phone stuff. (Japanese cell phones are keitai – a word that was instrumental in discovering Strapya in my Google searches.) I noticed that commenters over at this DS Fanboy post are having trouble navigating, so I’d like to help out.

First, the site itself. The two English Strapya sites are strapya-world.com, which is more Firefox-friendly, and strapya.com/store.htm. (At the strapya.com site, I have trouble with the shopping cart in Firefox.) If you leave off that /store.htm, you will get the Japanese site instead. You will also see a lot of people who don’t know that the English version of the store exists linking to this Japanese version: http://www.rakuten.ne.jp/gold/keitai/.

Yes, the navigation is somewhat confusing – wouldn’t things listed under the”Famous Characters We Love” category also be in “Anime & Manga” or “Cartoon & Disney?” (Currently, Nintendo stuff is under Famous Characters We Love.) And you’ve gotta love the Engrish. But my point is that both English versions of the site have search boxes – simply type in Nintendo. And if you can’t find that Nintendo Wii whistle charm, it’s because they called it the “Nitendo W11″ parody to avoid trademark problems. That’s Nitendo with only 2 “n’s” instead of 3. And they do have an e-mail newsletter for their new products.

I’ve ordered from them countless times, and the one time that one of my cell phone straps arrived broken, they sent me out a new one and did not make me send them the broken one. And the shipping is not expensive, as I recall.

Call me a Strapya fangirl if you must, but there is no other site like it, that I know of, in English.
