Screw Driver, Ubisoft. Wii deserve better.
Ubisoft has apparently dropped their Q1’07 software lineup, and on the list for Windows and Wii is Driver: Parallel Lines, which came out last spring on PS2 and Xbox. Ubisoft’s doing a lot of this. And by “this,” I mean in a horribly specific fashion, porting last generation’s driving games to the Nintendo Wii with lukewarm results.
I like racing games. I’m a big Mario Kart fan, yes, but I like the realistic racing games as well. I’m not into the whole modding-tuning thing. Going fast and sometimes crashing is fun. I liked what I played of Burnout 3 in the PS2 demo, except the car felt like it was floating instead of rolling. I even enjoyed Asphalt Urban GT on my DS at launch, until the first time I crashed. That was pretty darn surreal. I even liked F-Zero GX, but it was way hard.
Anyway, where was I?
Ah yes, last-gen driving games ported to the Wii by Ubisoft. Scores at right are at Metacritic.
