Review: Alien Hominid XBLA
First and foremost, I have never played Alien Hominid before now, and I really didn’t think much of its goofy 2D side scrolling, but after four hours of biting FBI agents heads off I now have my favorite game yet released on XBLA. Alien Hominid is a very simple, yet very fun action game. It combines fast paced game play with a clever sense of humor, and it does this better then half the games on the market.
The graphics are simple, entertaining, and colorful. They fit perfectly with the game and character design is quite cool. I found myself having to play levels over and over again so I could read all the funny text in the background. If you are a fan of fast paced corny action then this game will make you as happy as Louie Anderson at an Asian whorehouse.
The only thing that I would point out as a flaw in the game is the fact that at some points it might be just a bit too frantic. If you have not played this game before prepare to die…. a lot!. I could barley get past the first level until I got used the the pace. As the game progresses your dexterity will be be put to the test…but it is still a lot of fun and quite addictive. Boss fights are tough and will make you want to throw your controller against the wall…in a good way.
I could say more about Alien Hominid but I imagine a lot of you have already played the game. If you own a 360 I encourage you to spend the 800 points for this game. It is definitely worth your hard earned money and we need to support the people who bring great games like this to XBL.
