Nobody does merchandising like Nintendo.

official-nintendo.pngA lot is made of Nintendo’s ability to make money off everything they do, and rightly so. This is a company that’s been around for more than 117 years, let’s just say they know what they’re doing. One of the things that’s always amazed me is how good Nintendo is at marketing their images on everything from lunchboxes to eyeglasses, and yet I’m still surprised when someone shows me a Nintendo-branded product that’s completely unconnected to Nintendo’s actual products.

My in-laws came back from Texas with a small souvenir for me. It’s a “Klik” candy dispenser with Nintendo’s logo, and their mascot Mario, all over it, made by Au’some Candies.

It’s basically a Pez style dispenser, except it “launches” the candy, brilliantly combining sugary snacking with weaponry. It comes with a roll of Smarties and a roll of their own bubble gum, which features turmeric coloring and BHT.

  • Hah you surprised me with the ingredients punchline. I thought you were going to talk about them being in the shape of Mario's head or something. Nice one.
