Live Arcade Wednesday 2/20/07: Nuthin’

XBLA_2-20-07.jpgI’m not really sure if this is the third week without an Arcade release since Microsoft announced Live Arcade Wednesdays, but if it is, Nada 3 sounds like a fitting title.

So the day after Crackdown, Xbox 360 fans don’t have any Live Arcade goodies to look forward to. Major Nelson put it simply,

“We have a very high bar that each title must pass over in order to be released on Xbox Live Arcade and unfortunately, no titles were ready in time.”

So something sucked and we’ve been spared from it, I love how these console developers spin this stuff. I read that comment and just for a brief moment thought, “Microsoft did me a solid.” Excellent.

Seriously though, I’m not going to be the guy complaining for being denied yet another port of Worms. I’d even go out on a limb and say that releasing a new Live Arcade title every week has actually diluted the Marketplace a little.

That’s a fantastic new franchise, and I think it has major, major legs. I predict the developers of Nada will port it to every platform they can at various times. I could have sworn I saw it in my local game retailer’s PS3 section.

I stole the whole NADA thing from a Gamefly commercial, I think.
