Come one come all, let’s start a Gears of War 2 suggestion box. I know, Epic’s official site has one but I want to start a list because I have some issues with this near-perfect Xbox 360 game, in multiplayer mode.

1. First and foremost, I’ve never in my life seen so many quitters in one place. If people don’t like the ranked match they’re playing, they’ll quit, leaving you and your teammates high and dry. This really rubs me the wrong way, so let’s let people join a ranked game in progress like the non-ranked games – please!

2. The advantage the host has over others is insane because their ping times are way better. If you host a match, you’ve got a better chance of winning. I’ve approached many enemies and blasted them with one shot, no problem. It’s like you’re always a half second ahead of everyone else.

3. Better weapon balance. The game should be called Shotguns of War or Gears of Frag-Taggers, in my opinion. Tactical movement isn’t really in the code for this IP, so it’s pretty easy to be taken down before you were even aware you were down in the first place. Lose the sniper rifle and offer more balanced mid-range weaponry.

4. Maturity levels of the players are lower in Gears than the green toilet bowl water in a motel bathroom of a crack user. I want to enjoy talking to my teammates without the swearing, trash talking, bad singing, gangsta’ rap, and wining. Solution? Choose your age demographic you want to play in before you start your matches. I’m over 30 now and I want to play with 30 year olds. Also, I want to choose the speaking language of the people you want to talk to. I only speak English so when I’m in a room of Spanish, Italian or French speaking players, there’s some obvious language barriers there. “√âl est√° all√°!!…” What?

5. More players on the team. How about 8 per team? By the time Gears 2 comes out, perhaps the developers will unravel more mysteries of the 360′s code, and we can enjoy a broader team base. Rounds are too quick because there’s few too many people allowed to play.

6. A sealed map is a playable map. Yeah, Gears’ has a lot of glitches. Most of those reside in the ability to float around the map, hide and shoot where one wouldn’t usually hide, and slows the game down as we wait for Mc Joe to finish his 20 minute excursion to the very edge of Gears universe. A few cheats need to be addressed too, like the run ‘n gun or chainsawing yourself, although that’s only cheating yourself.

7. Lastly, Connection issues. It takes a good 3-4 tries before I can successfully connect to a match. Also, when people quit a game, why should we have to sit around and wait for that dialog box to go away? If someone leaves in other games I’ve played, they just leave and it says so on the screen.

Gears of War is an excellent game, it is definitely one of my all time favorites. I’m just hoping part two is a little more polished.

in gears of war 2 i think u should drive any car around and have way alot of guns and have your health refuel better and have alot more people to fight and fight boses and have cheat codes for the game and let it be on xbox360

if you have beoonets on the end of the shotty there would be no reson to have the chainsaw on the end of the lancer the whole point is to be the faster one and shoot your shot gun before the chainsaw gets you

there is a time on the hammer if you use it for to long it does turn off and wont let you use it for a while

Yo, how come u want to take out snipers? that’s the best weapon on the game. The weapons are all fine u probobly just suck. They should just make new ones but leave the ones we respawn with.

hey.

a few things i would like to see changed:

1. me and my mate want to be able to work on the achievements in multiplayer together. it sux that we can’t. ok, people are worried about stacking etc, well make the achievements available in the player matches then.

2. it would be cool if left bumper did the melee attack. the number of times i’ve tried to melee, punching B but not being able to turn around does my noggin in!

3.the running into cover is a wee bi sensitive don’t ya think?

4. the lancer should be a bit more effective

5. the pistol bullets are curiously slow…. what’s that all about?

6. any change of being able to choose servers local to us?

7. someone should send this lot to epic, it might be good for ‘em

I thought gears of war was one of the best games ive played on and so i dont think it needs much change but:
1.id like to see a wepon that grapples the enemy and pulls off a body part.
2.maybe have a chain sword or something.
3.The thing i would like to see the most is a rail gun that could shoot a steel cillinder filled with emultion that would go into the locust then relise the emultion and burn them inside out.

First off…

1)General Raam is too small to be the hardest boss, the berserkers are bigger and harder than him, why not make him use huge fists, not a gigantic lancer?

2)Markus looks retarded around the nose area, maybe in Gears of War 2 give him a nose job? I couldn’t take the game seriously with that on my screen.

3) Are the Boomers supposed to be hard? 3 headshots and they’re dead.

4)Down enemies on campaign, i get bored and feel like leaving enemies lieing around still alive, toying with them, chainsaw, curb stomp, melee, there isn’t enough ways to kill someone on campaign.

I have tried the beta test of halo3 but have always been drawn back to GOW this game is like a drug. Now I have found a group of friends that i can relate to and yes I trash talk but can take it myself with all the grace of a shot gun to the face!!!
I have been a host and come up against the host, so have seen both sides of the coin and quite frankly who cares.
GOW2 will be a jewel if they follow the same rules as the first, but with improvements. New weapons and tweaking of the old, new maps though if the four new multiplayer maps that are available are anything to go by we are in for a treat!!!
I could say I agree with the age thing but then no-one would know what side I was on. One thing i do say is its not the age group its the individual that is to blame, being told your doing badly for your team and to pick up the pace is fine but to start verbally abusing an opponant just because they were quicker on the draw than you well these people should be told that the world isnt fair. The chainsaw that some people think is only a noobie weapon can be put to good use in the hands of master maniac on a death wish mission or for that surprised look when that sniper dude on the other team suddenly relises he is dead. Well ive had my say and see you on the game, dont forget my motto ‘I’M NOT CANNON FODDER’!

“I love Gears of War because it is the best shooter ever! But I just hope that on the next one, it will have more weapons of choice and longer stages or more acts than just five. Smarter enemies( computer A.I.), booby traps, different kinds of grenades and please…avenge Carmine! Poor guy! I just can’t wait to find out who is the character on the ending part of the story, that was on the back of a weird flying monster. Is he higher than Gen. Ramm? What’s his name? Is he the Emperor of the Locust Horde? And, oh…please…more Amya!!! Do you think Col. Hoffman will be the next one to be killed by this other guy? Maybe? C’mon, Epic…many of us can’t wait for the GoW2 to come out someday—have mercy, man!!!

All of the opinions in this forum are excelent and many of the suggested improvements are sure to be included in the future of the franchise but we must remember that this is Gears, the game we have all come to love and although evolution is inevitable we must be careful not to change that which diferentiates Gears from every other game we play.

Well said Graf, I hate to say it cause I was the biggest Halo CE fan there was when it cam out, but H3 may not have a chance against GOWII. Im not even sure if it will touch GOWI. CliffyB is a genious and has revolutionized the shooter. He slowed it down and made people think. Sometimes, its like a chess match. I think we can all rest easy in knowing that GOWII is going to take everything gamers are hopeing for into consideration and blow all video games out of the water. 2cents. btw, Im 29, my peeps have good sportsmanship and we play together all the time, send me an invite. Im the best sniper I know.

For me right now the biggest problem on Gears would have to deal with the weapons. Yeah I know when you first start out the weapons are sweet and you can’t get enough of them. But after you get all of those weapon acheivements they weapon selection is really restricted to 3 Weapons, Shotgun, Sniper, and Torque Bow. For me I would like to see a few new weapons in the game. Here are my suggestions.

1) Auto- Sniper Rifle, I would like to see this because im one of the people who always die by active reload with the sniper. I would like to see people having to hit the person in the head twice to get a head shot.

2) Flamethrower, To me this would just be awesome to torch someone who goes to pick up a weapon or pick up a teammate. I really think that would be halarious. Also if this weapon made it into the game I would like to see a sideclip when you kill someone, sorta like the chainsaw.

3) Tripmines, This idea is a simple thing, laydown a mine if someone runs over it then they die. I think this would add a whole new aspect to any gamemode where you can get up after you have been downed. Just think about it, the host totally owned you but right before you got downed or blownup you lay a mine, so when they run over to get the kill theres a chance that they run over the mine hahaha.

4.) Headshots with the Torque Bow.

Well those are the weapon ideas I had.

Here are some other ideas that I think can make the game hellafun.

1) Invite friends to ranked matches

2) An action button to kill people from behind, what this means is when your behind someone you would press a button like X, then it would go into a sideclip where Marcus takes his shotty and blowing off the locust legs. Or taking his chainsaw and sawing the locusts head off.

3) More online game types such as CTF, Slayer, Specific Weapon like all Pistols.

I would like to see a super lancer, something higher caliber and a higher capacity. OR a flame thrower, that would kick major posterior.

What the heck is with “stealing kills”! if some one downs a person with an active reload sniper round from across the map and then you come up and curb stomp, execute etc… they yell at you! I understand that their are achivments for killing 100 ppl with X weapon and 10,000 kills but seriously!!! ppl all of a souden think you are a horrible person and say that you steal kills just to get them and that you suck at GOW! WTF!!! why cant ppl say “thanks” or something to that effect
