From One to Seventy in 172,800 seconds?

I’ve been teetering on the edge of whether or not to post this article. Not because I think it’ll encourage the hacking of World of Warcraft, but whether I believe it’s even a legitimate hack. I can’t even really tell what I’m seeing here, so it might just be an ad for Fraps.com, a PC video capturing software application. The video claims that it’s a, “hack to reach level 70 in just two days.” It did make my mind wonder about the desire to power level aside of just the greed of selling a high level character.

Excessive power leveling is indicative of flawed gameplay mechanics. A player base that doesn’t want to experience the joys of gaining levels, the core addiction of playing a MMO, is a serious problem. This was very common in my time with FFXI. The flaw with Square Enix’s title is that it’s almost always a nightmare to ever try and level without a party. Thankfully, World of Warcraft is a bit less stressful with leveling but even there, it happens all too often.

I’m no saint on this topic, I’ve briefly been power leveled and have helped others reach a particular plateau in the past. Do you routinely power level others? Is there an unwritten code on whether you will power level someone or accept to be power leveled yourself? Is it only okay if you have already leveled a character to a high or maximum level?

Those hits are ridiculously high which is why i could see him leveling so fast.

Heh, Injulen. I was pretty aware of that but honestly, the video is pretty hard to understand. All I get from it is, "Fraps.com". :-D

Well it's not a FRAPS ad.. lmao. that is the watermark used when you make a movie using the FRAPS trial edition.
