While Windwaker is definately one of my favorite Zelda games (my first post on Aeropause was a Top Five Zelda article, and Windwaker was in it), I don't think I would like this. Other developers are going to be looking up to the big N and walking in their footsteps and a move like this might show them that it is o.k. to slack off and remake, sorry, Wiimake some older games. I, like many others, don't want that. I want something fresh and new. And I honestly doubt that there is a new Zelda of a year in development. People like to take breaks between games, not start one before the other is even finished.

But I hope it doesn't happen. MO.

Also: Stephen. Are you sure it was only 8 hours? I'm pretty sure my play time was over 20 or maybe in the 30's but I can't really remember. You might be right.

Miyamoto did talk about re-releasing GC games with motion control at a significantly lower price. So if this does indeed happen, expect the game to be 19.99-29.99. The Twilight Princess deal shows that Nintendo isn't afraid to release the same game on different consoles (Hell, look at the SNES to GBA ports, heh).

While I actually like the idea of a "director's cut" with changes and added content, it doesn't seem likely. Nintendo doesn't seem excited to alter content that has already been released. My guess is the best we can hope for is re-release of wind waker with updated controls.

My problem is that this might get overdone. I really loved windwaker and I would love to see another game in that graphical style, however, I'm impatient to move beyond last gen and really explore the possibilities of the Wii as a new system. I don't want to get bogged down with remakes and re-releases if we can help it. My fear is that devs would get lazy and instead of new IP, they would rerelease old content.

So, yeah, I would love what you are describing but I would fear the ramifications for the future if it was a success financially.

Oh, and if they sell it in stores, no more than $29.99 at launch, with a $19.99 drop pretty quickly.

Idiotic would be lying to you and telling you my total play time on the game, which the game kept meticulous track of, was significantly longer than eight hours, WOPR.

Why do people come out with such idiotic statements like Wind Waker lasting only 8 hours?

Yeah, I have thought about Nintendo doing something with Wind Waker for the Wii but I was thinking more of an update/patch you download for the current GC game. I would hate to buy the game again for $50 but for $5 or free, I would relive Wind Waker for the 3rd time.
