Wii Q1 ’07 release list; MK64 on VC next week.

january2007.pngAs I peruse this list, I’m pleased with the number of titles, but not with the lack of specific dates. How can I plan when to get what if I don’t know when they’re out yet? Man, am I impatient. Ah well. At least we’re looking at another N64 title next Monday, Mario Kart 64. Maybe I’ll pick that one up. Take that, James! See, he hates Mario Kart 64, and I’m taunting him.

Here’s the list from the press release via Kotaku, with the kid stuff excised. I’ll leave TMNT in there though, that looks like it might actually turn out OK.

Feb. 14 Wii Play with Wii Remote Nintendo
March Bust-A-Move Bash Majesco
March Prince of Persia Rival Swords Ubisoft
March TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) Ubisoft
March Blazing Angels Squadrons of WWII Ubisoft
Q1 Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 EA
Q1 SSX Blur EA
Q1 The Godfather Blackhand Edition EA
Q1 Medal of Honor Vanguard EA
Q1 Sonic and the Secret Rings Sega

Wii Play looks like my best chance to get a second Wii Remote. I’m thinking about Prince of Persia because I loved Sands of Time and never played Two Thrones. SSX Blur is the first EA title I’ve been interested in since Sims 2 hit the PC. Will be watching for reviews on that one and Sonic, which shows some promise, a rare thing in Sonic games nowadays.

Thanks, Kotaku.

oh man, for some reason when i read this list i remembered jet force gemini. i hope they put that up. did any of you ever play? it was this 3rd person shooter where you fought all these ant like bugs. it was really cartoony, but had tons of bug guts, and you could collect the heads of your decapitated ant foes to unlock cheats. the game had 3 playable characters/paths, and you had to replay each path with each character to unlock everything.

It seems to me that the wiimotes are completely available where i live. at wal-mart they had at least 20 the other day. I am so psyched about POP RS, i’ve beaten all 3, some of the funnest games i’ve ever played. wonder how the wiimote will work with it?

I’ve heard Jet Force Gemini was very good, marc, but as far as I know it’s a Rare property. No Rare-owned games expected on VC now that Rare belongs to MS. Mac, not sure you’re aware, but PoP Wii is a remake of Two Thrones. If you’ve played through that already, you might want to skip this one.
