October 28, 2011 – 12:44 pm |

I really liked last year’s DBZ game, Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit 2. It felt like the franchise had finally achieved some serious attention with a game that was both deep and fun.
This year, we …

Some Flashy Wii Goodness For All

Submitted by on January 16, 2007 – 10:27 am2 Comments

I spent some hands-on time with the Wii’s Opera browser last night. While it’s a very basic application, having a web browser on a game console opens your living room up to a plethora of wacky flash games to enjoy. I’ve been casually playing flash games on my PSP for over a year now, so I thought I’d share some of my collected content with new web browsin’ Wii owners out there.

Back in May 2006, I began putting together a collection of flash games for the PSP. These games have been tested to run well on the custom-designed PSP Web Browser, which is surprisingly similar in compatibility to the Wii Opera browser. Some that were left off my original list exceeded the memory of the PSP cache but now that I’m familiar with the Wii’s capabilities, I’ll be adding those to this page in the coming days for you to enjoy.

I’ve put direct links to these games inside so when you navigate within from your Wii, you can bookmark it and just click the games to play.

I’ll be adding more to this page as they become available and are tested to work.  Feel free to bookmark this page and check back often.

- Solitaire – Simple solitaire game. It runs perfectly, no sound and looks a little muddy on the Wii.

- Yahtzee clone – Like Yahtzee, here ya go. Runs well with sound.

- Chess – Simple chess, 2-player single system.

- Minesweeper – loads a little slowly on PSP, but runs well aside of that. No Sound.

- Breakout – The classic breakout on PSP. Nothing special here but it is a classic after all. With Sound.

- Battleship – Great 3D single player version of Battleship. Menus will be slow (PSP) but the game runs well on both Wii and PSP.

- Dominoes – Jamaican Dominoes! Woo! It plays well, although the floating Dominoes creep me out. With sound.

- Atomica – The classic flash game is here in a very early but excellent form. With sound.

- Bejeweled w/Sports – Match up Sports balls to clear them instead of jewels. Runs a little slow on PSP. With sound.

- Mini-Putt – Single player Mini-golf in it’s simplest form. Runs pretty well. With sound.

- Curveball – A classic online flash game.  Framerate gets a little chuggy on PSP, With Sound.  Doesn’t play on Wii.

- Duck Hunt – Possibly the best game on this list. Complete with sound and heckling dog.

- Black Jack – Awesome Blackjack game with audio and wide-screen to boot.

- Video Poker – Video Poker without audio. This is another good one.

- Three Card Poker – Three Card Poker. Not sure how to play it, but it’s playable. The text is a little hard to read on PSP, but it runs well.

- Carribean Poker – Can’t have enough poker, ay?  Text is a little small to read on PSP, runs well on both Wii and PSP.
