Six Midway Online Titles Coming To PlayStation Store

Sony Online Entertainment has announced at CES that it has licensed six Midway titles for release by direct download to the PlayStation 3. The titles were chosen for their multiplayer because online multiplayer will be added to them, says Slashdot. The first title is expected to appear in early 2007.

The games are: Mortal Kombat II, Gauntlet II, Joust, Rampage World Tour, Rampart, and Championship Sprint.

Pricing isn’t yet known but PS3 owners are optimistic that the pricing is as competitive as the current offerings in the PlayStation Store. I noticed this on EvilAvatar.

What about voice chat, Sony? Can we chat with our pals while Joust-ing around or tearing down buildings and eating pedestrians in Rampage World Tour? No word on that feature for the PS3 yet.
