PS3′s Collecting Dust In Wild Nebraska

PS3_Nebraska_Thumb.jpgBill writes us with some great news for Nebraska Sony fans, PS3′s are apparently easy to come by. The local Walmart has six 60gb PS3′s on the shelf and the staff informed him that they’ve been there for days. Bill didn’t let me know which Walmart had the consoles though, so you’ll just have to check all of them.

No worries, according to Walmart.com there are only about 18 stores in Nebraska. That sounds like a fun afternoon!

A friend of mine picked up a PS3 this past weekend by just walking into a local Best Buy, they had about thirty units to choose from at that time. There were absolutely no Wii’s available. A few days later, a different friend picked up a Wii from Toys ‘R’ Us without much effort.

Thanks Bill! More images inside.

Seems like these stories are popping up everywhere.

I was most surprised to see the one from Japan. I thought maybe this was more of a US thing, but it’s not looking like it.

I just called my local BB, CC, and Wal-Mart and all of them had PS3′s in stock…no Wii’s though!

I guess when Sony said they’d solved their supply problems they weren’t kidding.

True, I didn’t expect Japan to follow this trend. You know what’s funny too, that QJ.net pulled the story about Japanese PS3′s not selling because members got all up in arms in the comments blaming QJ of being a PS3 basher in the very PS3 section. It was priceless. Anyhow, I’m glad people are sending Sony a message by not buying into their forced blu-ray strategy.

“I guess when Sony said they’d solved their supply problems they weren’t kidding.”

    Ha, yes, every ironic.

It seems they have replaced their supply problem with a demand problem.

I wouldn’t call it a “demand” problem, I can walk into a best buy and see tons of 360′s laying around, I wouldn’t call that a demand problem. I know a lot of my friends got tired of driving to stores looking for them, so they kind of gave up. I was lucky and walked into a best buy just as they were puutting out a shipment. This is good though, hopefully more people will realize this and buy more, thus I will have more people to play against online!
