Portrait of Ruin is taking forever. I was wrong.

demoncastle.pngIt turns out my initial impression that Portrait of Ruin would end far too soon was pretty far off base. I’m still chugging away at a “hidden” part of the castle, with an additional painting that contains an area very similar to the battle arena area from Circle of the Moon. I’m replaying portions of that area, trying to get enemies to drop their rare items just for the sake of completeness, but it’s taking a long time.

A friend told me he read online that by using the “suspend” function repeatedly you can replay any room and therefore not have to replay the segment, which isolates rooms with one-way doors to keep you from repeating individual rooms. Sounds like a neat cheat… er, trick, but I haven’t had a chance to try it yet.

Beyond getting everything the enemies I’ve met have to offer, I’m stuck partway down the painting at some particularly tough enemies. Once I’ve done this area and gotten every item, I should be about done with all the quests in the game as well, meaning I can move on to the final battle or battles that await me in, and possibly beyond, the throne room.
