Nintendo wants 1200 points for Ocarina on VC.
Joystiq has the scoop on February’s Virtual Console lineup in Japan, and arguably the most important title in the N64 library has appeared at an irritating 1200 points. Again, those of us with the Gamecube Zelda Collector’s Edition as well as the Ocarina of Time/Master Quest bonus disc really have no reason to er, Epona up for this downloadable version, as we already got at least two copies free. But those who missed out on last generation’s Nintendo console (and that’s most people I figure) are expected to really dump some real money on this one.
Mark this down, people. This is the point where I’m questioning the pricing on the Virtual Console. For a while there I thought I was the only one who was OK with the 500/800/1000 point price structure for Nintendo’s games. If we’re looking at getting all stupid and jacking up prices on games that have already made publishers and developers legendary amounts of bank, and redistributing them in a fashion that has next to no cost, I’m going to get a little unhinged. Of course, this could just be Japan’s pricing. Their total pricing for R-Type on TG-16 is somewhat higher than ours, because they have to buy it in two parts. And often games are more in Japan than in the US market.
It’s OK, I’m cooling off now. Hey look, Vermilion for Sega Genesis is on the list. Is that Sword of Vermilion? Rock!
