Major Nelson dropped a post on his blog just before the New Year that the blockbuster hit Superman Returns is available on the Live Marketplace. Unlike Mission Impossible 3, this one is available in full HD. Why Mission Impossible 3 hasn’t been released in a high definition format escapes me.

While some might opt for the purchase of a high definition disc player, I honestly have little faith in either of the new high definition discs. I would much rather download the content and not waste my space with worthless discs I’ll watch once then never again. I also don’t want to buy a high def player and only have the ability to play half of the movies on the market.

The price for the HD rental is 480 points, which is about six bucks. That gives you two weeks to watch the movie and once you click play, you have 24 hours to finish it before it expires. If you plan on renting anything from the Marketplace, be sure to request it a few hours in advance.
