I Say, “Pirates PSP” and You Say…..
…nope, if you said what I think you said, you wouldn’t be right.
When I heard Sid Meier’s Pirates! was hitting the PSP this month, I instantly didn’t give it a shot in Hell to be a decent game. Everything is setup perfectly for the game to suck, just like so many other ports that have done the same.
However, according to IGN’s review, Pirates! breaks the port mold. They toss a 9.0 “Outstanding” on it saying,
“…everything that makes Pirates! what it is is here and in fantastic form. The most important elements, like ship battles, exploration and such are identical to what you ‘d find on the PC, which is really what matters. If you own a PSP, head to the nearest port and hand over some booty for this one.”
The review also mentions that, “You could play this game a billion times and never live the same life.” which I found very interesting. I’ve always had a passing interest in Pirates! but never enough to run out and purchase the game. Now that it’s accessible in a portable format, I might just rent this puppy and see how it is.
**UPDATE** 6:34pm Eastern
Turns out this game is only twenty beans! Why rent?
