God of War II Demo Better Than Sharp Stick In The Eye
Nelson Laut over at GameVideos let us know that there’s now a trio of videos taken of someone’s run-through of the demo of God of War II. Now that’s certainly better than a sharp stick in the eye! I’m happy to see Kratos’ hubris gets him in trouble yet again, with Athena herself casting him out of Olympus and stripping him of his godhood. I’m not giving much away, as this is the setup shown at the beginning of the videos. You can find the three of them here, here, and here. They’ve also got a regular trailer for the game here.
The now-classic God Of War demo that kickstarted interest in the game with the opening battle against the massive Hydra is repeated here in spirit with a multi-part fight against a Colossus mixed in with other fights that act as a tutorial for learning the basic controls.
I was one of the lucky ones to get a God of War demo back before it came out, and that demo cemented my desire to buy the game immediately when it showed up. I’m hoping I get the GoW2 demo from Sony in the days ahead, even if I’m already planning on getting the game. While the videos are good, playing it and dealing damage with the Blades of Athena while bearing witness to Kratos’ self-destructive pride is definitely going to be better.
