Geometry Wars Developer Announces Next Release
EA dropped a press release today announcing their first title to hit the Xbox 360 Live Arcade. This Spring, EA along with developer Bizzare Creations (Geometry Wars, PGR3) will release Boom Boom Rocket. From the release, it seems that it’s going to be a rhythm game featuring 10 original music tracks by Ian Livingstone(?).
From the release:
“In Boom Boom Rocket, players trigger rockets to the beat of the music while traveling through a 3D cityscape. The better the player times the explosions, the more spectacular the fireworks effects. The fireworks are choreographed to 10 original tracks created by Ian Livingstone. Players can play in single player mode or go head-to-head against a friend on the same console.”
Many moons ago I loved music games, back in the days of FreQuency and Amplitude. Since then, even with Guitar Hero, I’ve really tired of the same old repetitive, “press button now now now” scheme. Their description of the gameplay seems interesting enough to break the mold, factor that with the Bizzare Creations pedigree and I’m looking forward to this one.
You can be sure of one thing. If EA can come up with a way to charge us per note, they’ll do it.
