Game Values On Your Six
If you had a PlayStation 2 in the last few years of its life you probably suffered from the same problem I did. There were simply too many great games out there to play them all, let alone buy them all. Keeping lists of games I wanted to get around to playing worked pretty well, but anytime something really great showed up I would have to constantly revise the list.
If you’ve got a PS3 and can’t find something new to play for it, or maybe you have a PS2 and think you’re missing out by not buying the next big console, take a look behind you at what the PS2 has in spades: lots and lots of great games that are being pushed unceremoniously down in price and cleared out for the new generation of titles.
As an example, go on over to Circuit City’s website, and do a price-up search of PS2 games. Then pick your jaw up off the floor. You’ll probably see lots of games that you wanted to play, or at least wanted to rent, and some of them are at cheaper-than-rental prices.
There are a few catches. One, the site often says something isn’t in stock online or in any store, which isn’t necessarily true. Each store will have things in stock that the site doesn’t know anything about. Two, when you get there and find a game on the shelf that is on sale, it will almost never be tagged with the sale price. But it often is still on sale, just get it scanned to see. So make your list, and head on out to at least one if not two stores to try and find your gaming treasure.
It takes some work, but it’s worth it. Enjoy! Oh and just so you know, I’m writing this as a game shopper, not at the behest of or in return for anything from Circuit City. But if they want to send anything my way, gift cards wouldn’t hurt, hm?
