Early Lost Planet Reviews: Good, Not Great
Don’t forget to pack your Long Johns because Lost Planet is hitting your local gamehut this Friday. Early reviews have been a slightly mixed bag, most complaining about game design decisions, a wacky Japanese storyline and questionable AI. That definitely sounds like a Capcom title to me.
I’ve been excited about this one since the minute the E3’06 demo hit my system. There’s just something about it that really sucks me in, it’s really hard to explain. It truly was the first title that I’ve looked forward to on the Xbox 360. At the same time, I’ve found many others didn’t enjoy the demo nearly as much as I have.
I’d have to put it in perspective against a game like Dead Rising, which I never really got into. It’s a great game but the controls drove me away in the end. I enraged a few people yesterday with my opinion of Diddy Kong Racing but it’s exactly that, an opinion. Everyone’s got their own and the comments section is where you share.
How did I get off topic? Anyway, back to Lost Planet.
Metacritic has it at 79% and Gamerankings at 77%, which puts it in the “Good” category. Just like anything else, I’ll have to decide for myself.
