Devil May Cry 4 For 360 Confirmed By PSM

Submitted by on January 29, 2007 – 5:00 pm4 Comments

devil-may-cry-4.jpgBack in November, I asked whether Devil May Cry exclusivity could save the PS3 and if it was really going to be exclusive at all. Well I wasn’t psychic then and I’m not psychic now, because apparently the recent issue of PSM magazine states that Capcom is bringing DMC4 to the Xbox 360.

No surprise here at all, the massive success Capcom has had with Dead Rising and Lost Planet proves that Xbox fanboys love to nibble on Capcom’s junk. I’m not so sure this is such a massive loss for Sony, however. Losing Devil May Cry isn’t as painful as when 3D fighting pioneer, Virtua Fighter crossed the streams.

“Fanboys love to nibble on Capcom’s junk”?

That’s awesome, James. Just awesome. Where’s our Wii version, you bastards?

I think this is a big loss for the PS3.

Why? Because this was one of the 4 or so games coming out in the next year or 2 that was pushing me to get a PS3 at the first available price break.

Now there is one less reason to pony up that $$.

    I can’t imagine I’m alone in this.

Everytime Sony loses exclusivity (particularly on a title that is emotionally tied to PS hardware like DMC is)it’s like their damage meter fills a little bit. I could be wrong but I think that damage meter is beeping right about now.

It pains me to see this, but not as much as trying to imagine playing DMC on the Xbox 360 controller.

On the upside, this could mean they’re prepping a release of that DMC 5th Anniversary box set they just popped out for the PS2 for the 360. That would be a sweet way to jump onto the console. Release that box set of DMC 1, 2, and 3 Special Edition on the 360 and get people excited for DMC4.

    Subnet6,

I understand where you’re coming from here but my reasoning is that from what I’ve seen of the game so far, it looks exactly the same. If it is the same, it’ll appeal to the hardcore fans and not much else. The game’s an aquired taste.

    Paul,

As for your 360 controller comment, I have to come out and say that the PS2 controller causes my hand to cramp and the 360 controller does not. The PS2/PS3 controller forces my hand to wrap too far around it, causing some aches and pains.

Aside of the D-Pad, which is hardly used, I do prefer the 360 controller.
