Wii Multiplayer Online Still Months Away
Feeling a little lonely with your Nintendo Wii? Lack of online play bugging the crap out of you? Well, get used to it for at least a little while. Reggie Fils-Aime stated on Spike TV’s, Game Head that no Wii titles will have online multiplayer functionality until at least March/April of 2007. (Or, if you prefer the sunny side of things, replace that previous sentence with, “YAY, Wii online multiplayer in March! Reggie, you are the f’ing MAN!”)
At least Nintendo has actually made a statement about when they plan on enabling online multiplayer for the Wii. Hopefully the titles are deeper and more stable than the DS WFC titles I’ve played.
What’s the Nintendo fan’s opinion of this? Yay because it’s finally coming or nay because it’s taking too long? Do any of you really care? Personally, I’m expecting nothing from Nintendo any earlier than June.

Nintendo: First thing they decided to do with online? Try to make money
Sony: First thing? Finger in ears going lalalala.
Microsoft: First thing? Online gaming.
Winnaaarrr.. Microsoft.

What has the world come to?
J1M.
As a big nintendo fan and someone who is really enjoying the Wii, I am really disappointed about this. We have known this was the case for months now, but it still seems weak to me. Add to that, the fact that the weather, news, and browswer and non-functional and you have several disappointments regarding online.
I saw that GameHead show in full this week, it was the one I reported on that had the SSX Blur trailer. Reggie pointed out that Japan has an online launch title for Wii, a Pokemon game, and that will likely be the first online title for Wii.
