The ultimate gaming cabinet

This is one nice cabinet. Each shelf holds a console which is elevated on cross-planks for maximum ventilation. It also has lighted PC fans to move air and wooden posts for hanging the controllers on the sides.

Actually, I can think of a couple of things that would make it just a little more ultimate – a door on the front to hide it all from view when no consoles are running (for it to all truly be hidden, it’d have to have more doors to go around the controllers) and room for game storage. Still, it’s really nice-looking and I wish I could whip something like that up, although I’m not in need of it as of yet – my current systems fit in the cabinet under my TV. I do like the doors at the bottom – looking through the Flickr set, it seems like those are there to hide the surge protectors; a good idea.

I’ve this on Destructoid today, apparently it made quite an impression. Personally I think it’s too ugly to have one of those in any room. looks like a cheap Hi-Fi cabinet with blue leds added. And why those fans? It only adds up to the noise. Maybe he could hang those consoles using fish-nylon that way in case of an earthquake they would always stay horizontal…just a thought.

Yea, from my experience the fans with the lights aren’t near the quietest around. I’m not trying to bash on it, but it’s a bit of an eyesore. I can’t imagine to that adding to the ambiance when the lights are out. And it does look like particle board, though I’m pretty sure it isn’t. I guess it’s MDF (medium density fiberboard).

If the cabinet wasn’t made of cheap-looking wood, then it might be ultimate. It looks awful, but the functionality is great.
