The Sounds of Gears of War

00D2000000305049.jpgIf you own an Xbox 360 Wireless Headset and Gears of War, then chances are you haven’t been hearing those gruesome chainsaw sounds in Epic’s killer Xbox 360 game. It seems there’s been some issues with syncing the headset to the controller, the reception interference and audio sensitivity with the game.

Is this game so technologically advanced that a wireless headset can’t handle the power of the Locusts? Your guess is as good as mine. I myself have only the measly old wired version so I can’t share your pain – but even that gives me troubles. I find I’ll have to replug that headset port in after a multiplayer game starts up just to hear the other half of a million Gear’s folk trash talking to each other.

The good news is that Microsoft will repair or replace the unit, if it’s under warranty, and all you have to do is call this number!: 1-800-4-MY-XBOX.

Has anyone done this yet? I’ve already stopped using the headset after being thoroughly disgusted with it because of a night of hissing in GoW. That damned thing picked up every surrounding sound, which doesn’t work in my gaming environment. I have rather loud surround sound, and that doesn’t work with the overly-sensitive headset mic.
