Review: Dragon Ball Z – Ultimate Tenkaichi (PS3)

October 28, 2011 – 12:44 pm |

I really liked last year’s DBZ game, Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit 2. It felt like the franchise had finally achieved some serious attention with a game that was both deep and fun.
This year, we …

POLL : Missing Features

Submitted by on December 21, 2006 – 10:46 am4 Comments

missing-rumble.jpgIt seems like every time a console launches there are many people up in arms about certain features they feel should have made it into the final product. Well now you have a chance to vote on which missing feature you think will have an impact on the future sales of each console. Please think long and hard about this question

I honestly don’t think any will end up being that important. The lack of a rumble may be hugely disappointing, but at the end of the day I can’t imagine it affecting the purchasing decisions of too many people. The thing about bells and whistles is that a lot of them seem to only matter to you *after* you’ve bought the console, for better or for worse.

@Mole: I agree with you but that’s why I think the lack or rumble affects Playstation users. Millions of people had it with the PS2 and now it’s missing. This is a step backwards in terms of gameplay. Personally I can’t play some games without it like Halo 2 or games where the vibrating feedback immediately alerts me when my character is getting hit from an angle outside of my field of view.Tactile feedback is a very important feature in my opinion, and though it may not translate into lost sales, I think it’s a feature which will be sorely missed by some PS3 gamers, some of which are never going to admit it.

Just one more example. Try playing a racing game without rumble. It just isn’t the same. Ok, I’m done

What about Metal Gear Solid 3 without the rumble? You can’t use the mine detector, or the motion sensor, stuff that is pretty much essential to the game is now completely unusable. Still, as much as it sucks, I don’t see it affecting sales that much.

As for the Xbox360 HDD, it doesn’t matter that much, people will just buy the premium pack, and I’m pretty sure people don’t care that much about DVD playback in the Wii either any more. My house has something like 5 DVD players now (and only 3 TV’s.)
