One friend code is not enough

Sigh… it seems that the upcoming Pokemon Battle Revolution issues its own friend codes that are different from the Wii system’s code. Is this just a one-off or does it mean we haven’t seen the end of game-specific friend codes? Come on Nintendo, this is getting ridiculous. via Joystiq

what is it with this stupid spiralling rumor?

    start with the original article:
    http://au.wii.ign.com/articles/750/750994p1.html

    Lets look at the facts.

    1) It’s a 12 digit code, not 16. Implies this is a DS code, not wii.
    2) The game doesn’t even support widescreen, I wouldn’t be using it as the shining light of wii games and what to expect in the future.
    3) the last paragraph of the article:

    QUOTE
future titles will hopefully include chat features, get rid of the lag, and tap into the Wii’s built in friend list.

I think they were just too lazy to use the built in friends list, much like they were too lazy to add widescreen support.

Andrew, I’m quoting directly from the article you linked to:

“Strangely, despite the Wii hardware having its own friend list, Battle Revolution uses its own, independent friend list. Each game includes a unique 12-digit friend code, different from your Wii system number.”

  • James

It means we haven’t seen the end of game-specific friend codes.

  • XAQ!

Actually, guys, the reason this game has it’s own friend code, which- like that one guys said- is 12 digits and not 16(a DS friend code) is because you can use Pokemon Diamond and Pearl with your DS as the controller for Battle Revolution. But I’m pretty sure your Diamond and Pearl friend codes won’t be the same as Battle Revolution.

The main reason(I think)it’s like this is because(I think)Diamond and Pearlers can battle Battle Revolutioners(I think). Or at least, that’s what I’ve been told, if I’m wrong present me with some cold hard facts and a link, because I dont want to spread a false fact.
