Okami & Godhand 360 Bound?
According to the Blog, Live Gamer, Capcom is set to release updated versions of Okami and Godhand for the Xbox 360. They believe this because of a document from Capcom which can be found here. Okami was a great game but did not sell quite as well as hoped so I would not doubt that Capcom would want to get their moneys worth out of it. I never played God hand but I hear it’s a fun game. We will have to wait and see if the new versions get a straight port or whether they actually get graphically updated.

Let me put this to rest right now. godhand is a fucking blast. Most of my console gaming time has been devided between Excite Truck and Godhand. Both are super fun pick and play games that really hit the mark for gaming fun. I started okami but after sitting through the 20 minute intro, I lost interest. I will get back to it later once my Wii-remote cools down. But yeah, godhand FTW for sure. This is an odd rumor considering capcom shut down clover like a month ago. You’d think if they had this in mind, they would have merged the studio into one of their xbox teams. News of that certainly would have hurt Sony though, so who knows what really happened if this rumor is true.
Microsoft requires all games to be at least 720p for the 360, so I would imagine a higher polycount on the models and better textures. Gameplay doesn’t need to change but why wouldn’t they make a few improvements while they are at it? Anyhow, if these games come out on the 360 I’m buying them.
I’d get Okami for Wii, even if it were effectively a direct port with no enhancements.
I don’t get it. Why port to an installed base that’s far smaller than the system both of these titles are on now?
This is a case of translation gone wrong. The real statement when properly translated states that Okami and Godhand will be released for sale in Australia and New Zealand for the PS2, not the Xbox 360. Lost Planet will be released too for the Xbox 360 only.
Check your facts before you post rumors.
Here’s the real press release:
“To prepare for the coming demand in next-generation video games,
Capcom has been strengthening its sales and marketing efforts in
territories outside of Japan, and the results of this change have
proven favorable. To continue to expand sales outside of Japan, Capcom
has turned its eye to the growing video game markets of Australia and
New Zealand and will work together with Activision, who has an
extensive distribution network in place in those territories. The
first title to be distributed in this manner will be the Xbox 360
