Nintendo “Recalls” Too Wee Wii-Straps

straps.jpgNowadays, it’s better to just fess up to the problem and take your lumps than try and act like it isn’t there. Nintendo’s taken this approach, recalling any of the original skinny Wii Remote straps and replacing them with the new straps that have started shipping with the December system.

They have a recall form on their website and an image between the old and new strap. I’m glad to see anyone with a launch system isn’t getting the shaft. How many of you with launch systems are going to request a new strap?

If you’re wondering, Yahoo News reports that the recall will cost Nintendo several million dollars.

This isn’t admitting their is a problem as much as it is an action to quiet the insane hype surrounding this on the net. My guess is, most will never exchange their strap but the action by nintendo will make it so those bitching can’t bitch anymore because they have a valid option. In the end, I doubt it will cost nintendo more than the price of a few hundred straps.
