I’m in the exact same boat. I absolutely MUST finish Baldur’s Gate, not to mention Ice Wind Dale, and Neverwinter Nights. It sucks because I let so much time lapse between sessions that when I do inevitably go back to them, I forgot where I was in the story arc. Thats the drawback for epic games for me. I either lose interest long enough to break my experience or I can’t (though I want to) commit the necessary time to really flesh out the experience. I have tried charging through games just to finally scratch them off my list but this always ends up feeling more like work than gaming and whats the point of that.

I’m with you on oblivion. I’m trying to close the major oblivion gates but always end up doing a side quest from someone in that city. I just can’t say no to someone in need. How far are you?

You might do better picking up a Gamecube or Wii and playing Skies of Arcadia Legends in Cube format. It’s SoA for Dreamcast with all but one item from the later-released downloads added in. Ikaruga is also on Gamecube and is reportedly a more accurate translation of the arcade. I have Ikaruga and it’s great. I’m sorry I missed the Dreamcast when it was still thrashing around but I’m glad so many games found their way to the system I had.

I need to resolve to finish Resident Evil 0 and then play through 1. They’ve been neglected due to heavy DS play and now I’ve got a Wii. Oy.

WOW Baldurs Gate, way way back in 1999 I think I finished that one. My computer today will not even run that game! I would have to load an emulator to get it to work. I have such great memories of those games and refuse to go back to them, I just recently tried to play Diablo 2 (again another old game that need an emulator to run on a high end PC, lol) and was sorely disappionted because it did not hold that feeling that it once held. Am I spoiled by newer games, sadly yes, my mind kept comparing it to newer games. Ahh I will just keep those old games in the back of my mind, all warm and fuzzy were they belong!!!
